Our Premier Industrial Unit
Our premier building is Unit No 1, occupied by Polyplas Extrusions Limited. This purpose built 21,000sq.ft.factory was designed by Architects Tim Cooper Associates specifically to suit our tenants requirements and was completed by award winning contractors Thomas Vale Construction of Stourport-on-Severn in February 2006.
Polyplas Extrusions Limited which manufactures thermoplastic profile extrusions for a wide range of industries was founded by Graham and Helen Tidman in a 2,400sq.ft.unit on Wilden Industrial Estate in 1989. Over the years the company steadily expanded into five adjoining units occupying a total floor area of 15,000sq.ft before eventually out growing the old premises all together.
On 7th September 2006 over 70 of Polyplas’s top customers joined other invited guests for the formal opening of the new factory by Wyre Forest MP Dr Richard Taylor. Following a number of guided tours and a buffet lunch, Managing Director Graham Tidman welcomed the guests by outlining a brief history of the company and its growth over the years. He emphasised the importance of not only manufacturing excellent products but also developing genuine business partnerships with customers and suppliers. He also paid tribute to the loyal workforce at Polyplas and thanked Kelvin Lee, Chairman of Wilden Industrial Estates Ltd, for his close co-operation during the design and construction. However, even then Graham Tidman was already looking at further expansion and had already reserved an adjoining plot of land for a possible future extension.
The Polyplas Building was part of a multi million pound investment program at Wilden Industrial Estate that has been ongoing since 1994. This has included refurbishment of all existing buildings, new roads and car parks, improved drainage and new services as well as the construction of many other new industrial units.
